There are two sources of heat at the cottage. Our wall heater, pictured below and a portable heater that can be used in any room. Directions for each can be found in the information binder at the cottage. When using the wall heater below a window must be cracked open. We use the double window next to the fridge for this.
Cooling at the cottage is done with two large window fans. These also help to hold up the windows so be careful as you put them in or take them out as the windows may slam without support. We put one in each of the back windows in the bedroom and aim them at the bedroom doors. They do a nice job of moving the air around and keeping the cottage cool. There is also a pull down shade on the large living room window and a curtain on the kitchen window. They both do a great job of blocking out the morning sun on hot days.
